Class 5 Theory

 

 

 

 

     Welcome to class five. There will be no lab this week. My purpose for this class is to teach you the nutritional and chemical components of keeping your body in a pain free state. This will give you a week to catch up on your exercises. I would like you to begin integrating all the stretches based on what you feel needs the most work. Always maintain the neck stretches and the breathing exercises as they need ongoing work. Let's begin.

     If I were to tell you that I had a product that was capable of repairing your entire body, would you buy it? If I were to tell you that it is curing cancer daily, that it could clean every toxin out of your blood, that it could keep you looking radiant and youthful, that it could keep you from catching just about every fatal disease, would you buy it? If I told you it could give you tremendous energy to perform your daily tasks, that it could heal just about any pain or ailment, would you buy it? Of course you would buy it. Only it is not for sale. You already own it. It is called your immune system and it is the greatest blessing you have ever received. Since the day you came into this world your immune system has fought to keep you alive and healthy. It will continue to fight until the day you die. The immune system's goal is to keep your body as clean as possible. It removes any invader, like viruses or malevolent bacteria, and any deviant cells such cancers. It encases parasites so they cannot do harm in the body. This body you have is truly brilliant. Just think of how much abuse you have put it through over the years and yet here you are…still breathing. It's a miracle! After coffee, cigarettes, drugs, alcohol, and fast foods and you are still standing. Pretty incredible. It is doing its best and its best is really pretty remarkable. But let me ask you this. How good do you really feel day today? Do you feel vibrantly healthy? You could. What if instead of waging war on our immune systems, we actually stepped out of their way ; stopped throwing poisons at them and just let them do their job uninhibited by our sloppy dietary habits. What if we made sure our immune system had all the building block nutrients it needed to maintain optimal health? What if we did nothing to impede it? What if we just stopped habitually eating that which makes us feel worse and started eating that which makes us feel better? You could feel incredible all the time at any age! You just need to know how.

The human race has more degenerative diseases than any other species on the planet. In fact, most species live their life in perfect health until dying of old age or falling prey to a predator. How do they live so healthily? Well let's look at their diet. There are carnivores and herbivores. Both of them live on raw food. You never see a lion sitting around a campfire waiting for his gazelle flesh to be done cooking! He eats it raw exactly as is. The herbivore never boils his carrots. He eats them raw…unprocessed in any way…just as nature provided them. That is as close as you are going to get to perfect health. There is ,however, one catch. Most humans believe they are omnivores capable of properly digesting both meat and vegetables. Well this really isn't quite true. If you look at the digestive tract of a human, it is decidedly herbivorous. 

If you look at the digestive tract of a carnivore, is very short, usually only 3 times the length of it's body. The herbivore's digestive tract, like the human's, is usually 6 times the length of it's body. The carnivore secretes strong hydrochloric acid in the stomach to digest the meat. The herbivore, like the human, secretes 10 times less than that. A carnivore a claws and sharp pointed front teeth whereas an herbivore, like the human, does not. Our body is set up to be herbivorous. For optimal performance, we are meant to be living on raw produce. Now I do not live on raw produce, but I have taken it into great consideration as I pick and choose what I eat. I want to eat the least refined foods I can. The closer I can get to the way nature provided it, the better.

We must always try to eat organic produce. Why? Well organic produce is free of pesticides. But even more than that, organic produce is still alive! There is life force still flowing through organic produce. Why is this important to our health? It is important because so long as the food we eat is still alive, it still has all of its enzymes intact. Enzymes are what make it so that fruit rots after it dies. Every single fruit and vegetable has the exact enzymes necessary to digest themselves. If the produce is eaten raw, we do not have to expend nearly as much energy digesting our food because a great deal of the work is done for us. Because the enzymes of the fruit or vegetable are intact, we do not have to secrete as much of our own precious enzyme supply to digest it. What does this mean for us? Well our body has hundreds of different enzymes that function to help us maintain ourselves. They are like catalysts for the processes in our body that allow us to keep our body free of disease. If we do not have to expend our enzyme supply digesting our food, we can spend it maintaining and repairing our bodies. This means a stronger immune system and healthier tissue, healthier muscles, healthier nerves…. The health of every cell in our body improves which means that as a whole you are healthy. The nutrients of raw organic fruits and vegetables not only don't add toxicity to the body, they work to remove it! They put the health of your body exactly where it needs to be. Can you see how simple health is? Now you should know that as soon as you cook a fruit or vegetable, you have destroyed all of it's enzyme content. So it is really best to eat them raw. There are many people in this world who only eat raw organic fruits and vegetables. I have met some of these people. They have the boundless energy of a small child at the age of 50. Their eyes are so bright and the skin so clear. Now that did not happen for them overnight. Like I said the nutrients in raw food actually help the toxins remove themselves. As this process is occurring you can really feel quite sick. As the toxins enter into your bloodstream your liver has to filter them out and this will make you crave cooked foods, but if you stick with it, wonderful things can occur. Please remember that any intense cleanse should be well supervised by a health care practitioner who has experience in such things. Many naturopathic doctors are well versed in such endeavors.

OK. So we now know how to maintain health. The basics of good health are easy to understand. Your body is nothing more than a combination of living cells. Your muscles are just cells, your nerves are just cells, your connective tissue is just cells, your bones, organs, and brain are just cells. These living cells need certain nutrients to perform their functions and they need to have their toxins removed. If the cell is not toxic and has all the nutrients it needs, there is no reason why it should not be healthy. Healthy means it does not mutate into cancer and does not feel tired and drained. This makes your job really very easy. Stop putting toxins into your body and start making sure your blood is filled with an adequate amount of nutrients. The cleanest most nutrient rich diet involves raw organic produce and plenty of it. Should be pretty easy. If you release your connective tissue and muscular holding patterns, the nutrients will be able to reach the injured parts of your body via increased blood circulation and this will necessarily ease if not eliminate the habitual pain you experience. The only hurdle is that you have been eating poorly for so long, your digestion may be impaired and you are likely dealing with some parasite activity.

It has been estimated that at least two thirds of all North Americans have some form of serious parasitic infestation. The parasites can be all different forms of bacteria and worms. I went through a period in my practice where I was receiving referrals from a group of women who had decided they had parasites and wanted to get rid of them . They were nightly taking herbs to kill the invaders and you wouldn't believe some of the things they showed me. Now bear in mind they were killing them off very quickly , but as they began to make their bodies uninhabitable for these worms, the worms would try to escape out through their skin. One of my clients had a visible two inch long worm decaying right underneath the skin of her nose. It took some time for it to go away. These parasites live in your bloodstream and in your organs. Now this is nothing for you to get all upset about. But you should know that the typical American diet is pretty much designed to feed them exactly what they need to thrive…sugar! There is sugar in everything. The few things we eat that do not contain processed sugar, metabolize in such a way that they become sugar quickly after we eat them (bread and pasta). By allowing the Standard American Diet (SAD) to be a part of your life, you make your body less inhabitable for you and more inhabitable for other smaller parasitic life forms. Stop that! Some of these parasites can lay 2000 eggs a day! If you can't improve your diet for the health of your body, then improve it simply because the alternative is really kind of gross!

Other than sugar, these parasites thrive in a body that eats acid forming foods. This comes down to an internal PH balance of acid forming versus alkaline forming food. A healthy body maintains a slightly alkaline ph balance. Grains such as wheat are acid forming. Therefore pasta and bread are acid forming. Meat is acid forming. Bottled orange juice is acid forming. Generally, fruits and vegetables are alkaline forming. These should be your main staples. Take a look at the acid/alkaline chart I'm providing for you. There is a book I would like all of you to buy and read. It is called the Body Ecology Diet by Donna Gates. This is a diet that is very conducive to what we are trying to accomplish in this class. It is mainly an alkaline forming diet with absolutely no simple sugars. I went on the diet for months and it was the best I've ever felt. Anyone I know who's ever done the diet loves it. It is designed to stop feeding parasites (specifically Candida Albicans).

One of the great things about the Body Ecology Diet is that it contains very few foods that people would likely be allergic to. Most people have food allergies they don't even know about. It has been said that one man's sustenance is another man's poison. When you eat a food you are allergic to, you will find that your body becomes tired and a little bloated. This is from your immune system trying to clean the food out of your system. You see, your immune system treats this food like an invader. The best way to find out what you are allergic to is to try an elimination diet similar to the Body Ecology Diet. Stick to the diet until you are feeling great and then slowly introduce one new food at a time and see how your body responds. There are also some physicians who can do a blood test and tell you what your food allergies are. The further away you get from raw organic produce, the more difficult it becomes to be healthy. If you are going to eat dead food, please know that you can buy digestive plant enzyme supplements at any health food store. You take the capsule with the first bite of food and it will aid you greatly in your digestion. At some point I will write an expanded article on enzymes. Remember where health is concerned,  Life begets Life. Eat living foods when possible and give up eating the flesh of your fellow creatures.

On top of parasites and allergies, often the small and large intestines are covered in mucoid fecal plaque that has formed as a response to the consumption of meat, dairy, and processed foods. You know how white bread can stick to your teeth or even the roof of your mouth? Well what makes you think it is any different once it enters your digestive tract. It sticks to the walls and becomes very difficult to eliminate. Meat is very hard to eliminate. Most people have meat stuck in their intestines that has been their putrefying since they were small children. The nutrients you absorb from your food have to be absorbed through and among this fecal plaque which is very toxic. Therefore, as you absorb nutrients, you are also absorbing the toxins from your digestive tract. Parasites also like to hide in this plaque, by the way. The answer is to clean it out. One of the best ways I know of is through psyllium husk fiber. There is a great cleanse called the Arise & Shine cleanse. Check out the website at http://www.cleanseandpurify.com . This cleanse involves raw foods and fasting along with special herbs designed to soften the mucoid plaque so that you can drink down some psyllium husk and release it. I won't lie to you. The psyllium shakes taste pretty bad and the pills detox your cells in such a way that you might feel pretty lousy, but it is worth it. I guess it's a mind over matter sort of thing and I know people who have done it like was nothing. I say use your best judgment check it out with you heath care provider. Either way, you need fiber so that your food does not get stuck to your intestinal walls. If you ate only a raw foods diet, eventually the plaque would probably remove itself, but this would be a very slow process compared with just spending a few weeks here and there cleaning it out.

 

Now that you are eating a vegetarian, enzyme rich, highly alkaline diet let's look at some things you can do to really feel great and get a wide range of nutrition. For starters, there are the "superfoods". These are whole foods put together usually by nutritionally minded people that are of extreme benefit to you. They are usually made up of various different kinds of algae powders or enzyme rich grasses. The one that I use is called Barleygreen. This is basically dried barley grass juice. It is one of the most alkalizing foods there is and it is loaded with living enzymes. It doesn't even require a refrigerator so I can take it to work with me. Bovine Colostrum is another very beneficial substance to put into your body. When a child is first born, before the mother actually secretes breast milk, she secretes colostrum for the infant to drink. This colostrum has all kinds of antibodies and antiviral properties that create the building blocks for the child's immune system. The colostrum produced by cows is completely transferable to the human body and in a lot of ways it's even better. These cows take much better care of their bodies than your mother did. On top of that you are not stuck with just one cow's colostrum. Each bottle is pooled from hundreds of cows so that if one cow has one antibody that another cow doesn't, you don't miss out. The best way to take this is in capsule or powder form. If taken in capsule form, it goes directly to your small intestines and helps build your immune system as well as helping to maintain a balance in your digestive tract's bacteria. If you take it in powder form, it mixes with the acids in you stomach which actually releases human growth hormone (a substance believed to retard the aging process). Either way you've done a great thing for the health of you body. When it comes to fighting any disease, it all comes down to the strength of your immune system. Let's talk about vitamin supplements. Unless you are taking a powerful superfood, or working within some system where you know for a fact that you are getting all the vitamins you need from your whole foods, it is not a bad idea to take vitamin supplements. These vitamins were created by a cell biologist who was able to keep human cells alive for over fifty years just by cleaning the toxins away and giving them the proper balance of nutrients. When the cells finally did die, it was simply because someone forgot to clean the toxins away that day. This is the technology that went into the making of these supplements and I think they're great. Until you are ready to really make the necessary changes in your diets, vitamin supplementation is a very necessary step. You must have ample nutrients coursing through your blood if you want to heal your tissues and get out of pain. It is a must. So please take the appropriate actions to place your body in a position where it can maximally benefit from the work we are doing together. To release this tissue is to get fresh blood to the area for healing. It does not do you much good if your blood has nothing to offer the area. There will be no lab this week.
